Please be advised that according to the tradition of the Armenian Church, members of the congregation are strongly reminded to refrain from walking in and out of the Sanctuary while services are in progress. You are especially reminded not to do so during Reading of Lections until the Creed is recited, The Chalice Procession,The Hymn “Der Voghormia,” Singing of Hayr Mer – Lord’s Prayer, During Confession and Communion and During the Sermon. Please, wait in the vestibule until such time when it is proper to enter the Sanctuary.

Welcome to Parishioners and Friends - With open hearts we welcome all who have come to worship God as we celebrate the Feast of the Nativity and Baptism of our Lord Jesus Christ.  May this time of worship be encouraging and inspirational to all and may all the wonderful blessings of Christmas be with you throughout the New Year.  

Prayers for the Sick (Der Voghormia) – Page 45 of Divine Liturgy Book.  

Let us remember and ask God’s Blessings for our parishioners, who are ill at home, in a hospital or nursing home. Let us continue with our prayers for:

Prayer Requests - For those who request Hokehankisd (Requiem Service) or to enter a loved one's name on the prayer list, please call the church by Thursday of that week for printing in the Sunday bulletin. Requiem Service may take place during the entire year (including Lent) except for the 5 Tabernacle Feast Days.

Nicene Creed: Together, we shall recite the Nicene Creed (The Profession of Our Faith) on Pages 18-19 of the Divine Liturgy Book found in the pews. 

Kiss of Peace (Pages 26-27 of the Divine Liturgy Book) The person giving the greeting says:  Krisdos ee mech mer haydnetzav (Christ is revealed among us) The person receiving the greeting responds:  Ohrnyal eh haydnootiunn Krisdosee (Blessed is the revelation of Christ)

Confession and Communion - For those who wish to receive Holy Communion are asked to remain in their pews and together read the "Confession and Absolution" on Page 48 of the Divine Liturgy Book.  When taking Communion, make the sign of the cross and say:  I have sinned against God - Megha Asdoozo.  Ladies must have a head covering when approaching the Holy altar. 

Care, Maintenance and Cost of the “Light of St. Gregory” - Our thanks to Her Loving Husband Philip, Daughters Sharon & Vatche Khachadourian, Marianne & Jim Schneeberger, and loving grandchildren, Jereme, Luc, Dana, Ani, Ara & Lena for taking the responsibility of the cost of Keeping "The Light of St. Gregory" illuminated for the month of January in memory of Mary Battle.  Our thanks to Agnes Vartabedian for taking the responsibility of the cost of Keeping "The Light of St. Gregory at the stained glass window" illuminated for the Month of January. 

Special Choir Plate Collection - Today the first collection plate which will be passed during Dypticks, "Arakelotz"Page 36 will be for St. Gregory Nairi Choir.

Remembrance of the Dead - Merelotz - Hokehankisd, Requiem Service, for the repose of the souls of the departed, will be offered on Monday, January 13th at 11:00 am.  Those who wish to have Requiem Service for their loved one(s) please place the name(s) on the Sign-Up sheet in he church vestibule.  A $5.00 offering is suggested per family.      

Blessing of Water - Today's service, will conclude with Churorhnek, Blessing of Water, symbolizing the Baptism of Christ.  As Godfather of the Lord's Baptism, Harry Adami will hold the Holy Cross during the service representing John the Baptist.  All parishioners will receive a small cup of blessed water please consume the blessed water with the paper cups provided.  If you take blessed water home, you may use the plastic cups with their lids.  Please return these so that they may be disposed of properly since they contain traces of Holy Muron (Chrism).  They should not be thrown into the garbage.  It is recommeded to take blessed water home for those who are sick or shut-inh.                                                                      

Godfather of the Cross- As Godfather of the Lord's Baptism, Harry Adami, son of Guy & Martha Adami will hold the Holy Cross during the service of Churorhnek, Blessing of Water, Symbolizing the Baptism of Christ.  We Congratulate Harry on this special occasion.

Altar Flowers- The flowers adorning the main altar are presented by Guy & Martha Adami in honor of Harry Adami, being the Godfather of the cross for the blessing of the water service. Fr. Aren and the Parish Council thank all who made donations of poinsettia plants to enhance the Holy altar and Sanctuary during this Holy Season.  Parishioners who donated poinsettias may take them home following Divine Liturgy. 

Home Blessing "Doon-orhnek"  - Every Armenian family is encouraged to have their home blessed.  In the Armenian Church, it is customary to have the pastor make home visitations during the 40 days after Christmas and Easter.  If you wish to have your home blessed during Eastertide or at a late date, please call Fr. Aren to make arrangements.

When the Need Arises – Get in Touch With the Church Office - Before making any preparations, in choosing date and time for Weddings and Baptisms, please be sure to contact our pastor, Fr. Aren Jebejian. All Sacraments must be arranged at least three months ahead. Other church related matters, such as hospital and home visitations and counseling, should also be made first with Fr. Aren. In order to invite clergy from other churches, arrangements must be made through the church office. 

Fr. Aren will be in the church office on Monday from 2:00 - 5:00pm. and Wednesday from 10:00 - 2:00.  Fr. Aren can be reached on his cell at 773-457-4122.
