Please be advised that according to the tradition of the Armenian Church, members of the congregation are strongly reminded to refrain from walking in and out of the Sanctuary while services are in progress. You are especially reminded not to do so during Reading of Lections until the Creed is recited, The Chalice Procession,The Hymn “Der Voghormia,” Singing of Hayr Mer – Lord’s Prayer, During Confession and Communion and During the Sermon. Please, wait in the vestibule until such time when it is proper to enter the Sanctuary.

Welcome to Parishioners and Friends - We happily welcome all who have come to worship the Lord today on this day of Poon Paregentan.  As we enter the weeks of Lent with special services, we will be entering one of the most exciting seasons of the liturgical years.  This year Great Lent begins on Monday, March 3rd and is a period of forty days designated by the church as a time of reflection, spiritual discipline and self-examinations in preparation for Easter.  Fasting and prayers are the two most important elements of Lent.

Sunday, March 9th the theme for Bible Study will be Living the Gospel:  Who do you say I am?

Altar Flowers - The flowers adorning the altar today are presented to the glory of God by John and Georgette Mrofcza in celebration of the Marriage of Sam and Lisa Mrofcza.

Fellowship Hour - Everyone is invited to join us for our Pot Luch Luncheon.

Prayers for the Sick (Der Voghormia) - Page 45 of the Divine Liturgy Book.

Let us remember and ask God’s Blessings for our parishioners, who are ill at home, in a hospital or nursing home. Let us continue with our prayers for:

Prayer Requests - For those who request Hokehankisd (Requiem Service) or to enter a loved one's name on the prayer list, please call the church by Thursday of that week for printing in the Sunday bulletin. Requiem Service may take place during the entire year (including Lent) except for the 5 Tabernacle Feast Days.

Nicene Creed: Together, we shall recite the Nicene Creed (The Profession of Our Faith) on Pages 18-19 of the Divine Liturgy Book found in the pews.

Confession and Communion - For those who wish to receive Holy Communion are asked to remain in their pews and together read the "Confession and Absolution" on Page 48 of the Divine Liturgy Book. Whentaking Communion, make the sign of the cross and say:I have sinned against God - Megha Asdoozo. Ladies must have a head covering when approaching the Holy altar.

Care, Maintenance and Cost of the “Light of St. Gregory” - Our thanks to Margie Kazarian for taking the responsibility of the cost of Keeping "The Light of St. Gregory" illuminated for the month of March in memory of Takouhie Kazarians birth month. Also, to Paula Aznavoorian Clare & Laura Aznavoorian in memory of Archie Aznavoorian. Our thanks to the Adami Family for taking the responsibility of the cost of Keeping "The Light of St. Gregory at the stained glass window" illuminated for the Month of March.

Congratulations - We offer our congratulations to Sam Mrofcza and Lisa McNulty who were crowned in Holy Matrimony on February 28th, 2014 here at St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Church by The Very Rev. Fr. Aren Jebejian.  We wish them all of God's Blessings.

Condolences - Our condolences to the Paloian Family on the death of Miss Helen Paloian sister of Harry Paloian & Silvia Raubolt, according to Helens wishes there will be no wake or funeral service.  Memorial donations in her memory may be made to St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Church.  May her soul rest in eternal peace.

Parish Retreat - On March 8th, St. Gregory will be having a Parish-Wide retreat on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary. This is the first of a number of 50th Anniversary events which will take place to help us celebrate 50 years here at Diversey. The Theme of the retreat is "How to Build a Church", which will be focusing on what it takes to build and maintain a church. This is for everyone? Young and Old alike. Please RSVP by March 6th so that we will have enough food for lunch. There is no charge for participating, a free will offering will be requested. Lent is a time for self-reflection, what better way than to participate with fellow parishioners during this 50th anniversary.

On Monday Fr. Aren will be in the church office from 2:00 - 5:00pm. and on Wednesday from 2:00 - 5:00 pm.
