Please be advised that according to the tradition of the Armenian Church, members of the congregation are strongly reminded to refrain from walking in and out of the Sanctuary while services are in progress. You are especially reminded not to do so during Reading of Lections until the Creed is recited, The Chalice Procession,The Hymn “Der Voghormia,” Singing of Hayr Mer – Lord’s Prayer, During Confession and Communion and During the Sermon. Please, wait in the vestibule until such time when it is proper to enter the Sanctuary.

Welcome!  We rejoice in having you with us today worshipping the Lord on this Third Sunday of Advent which is within the 50 day period when many Christians are preparing for Christ's coming, or Christmas.  It is a time for reflection and self-examination as well as fasting, prayers, Scripture reading and most of all church attendance.      

Altar Flowers - The flowers adorning the altar today are presented to the glory of God by The Nairi Choir.

Prayers for the Sick (Der Voghormia) - Page 45 of the Divine Liturgy Book.

Let us remember and ask God’s Blessings for our parishioners, who are ill at home, in a hospital or nursing home. Let us continue with our prayers for:

Prayer Requests - For those who request Hokehankisd (Requiem Service) or to enter a loved one's name on the prayer list, please call the church by Thursday of that week for printing in the Sunday bulletin. Requiem Service may take place during the entire year (including Lent) except for the 5 Tabernacle Feast Days.

Nicene Creed: Together, we shall recite the Nicene Creed (The Profession of Our Faith) on Pages 18-19 of the Divine Liturgy Book found in the pews.

Confession and Communion - For those who wish to receive Holy Communion are asked to remain in their pews and together read the "Confession and Absolution" on Page 48 of the Divine Liturgy Book.  When taking communion, make the sign of the cross and say:  I have sinned against God - Megha Asdoozo.  Ladies must have a head covering when approaching the Holy altar.

Care, Maintenance and Cost of the “Light of St. Gregory” - Our thanks to The Abezetian Family  for taking the responsibility of the cost of Keeping "The Light of St. Gregory" illuminated for the month of December.  Our thanks to Edie, Claudia & Harutyun Johns  for taking the responsibility of Keeping "The Light of St. Gregory illuminated at the stained glass window for the month of December in memory of Marguerite & Wahan Johns.  

We offer our condolences to the Donikian and Paklaian Families on the death of Yn. Maireni Donikian who passed away on December 4th, 2014.  Funeral Services were held at St. Gregory Armenian Church officiated by the Very Rev. Fr. Aren Jebejian along with the participation of other Midwest Clergy.  The family has requested in Lieu of Flower donations be made to St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Church.  May her soul rest in eternal peace.    

We are looking for a Godfather of the Cross for the Christmas Blessing of the water service.  If any young man is interested please see Fr. Aren. 

50th Anniversary - Those who so graciously lent their photos to the 50th Anniversary Committee may pick up their envelopes after church services.

When the Need Arises - Get in Touch With the Church OfficeBefore making any preparations, in choosing date and time for Weddings and Baptisms, please be sure to contact Fr. Aren Jebejian. All Sacraments must be arranged at least three months ahead.  Other church related matters, such as hospital and home visitations and counseling, should be made first with Fr. Aren.  In order to invite clergy from other churches, arrangements must be made through the church office.   

On Monday Fr. Aren will be in the Church office from 2:00 - 5:00 pm. on Wednesday from 10:00 - 3:00pm.
