Please be advised that according to the tradition of the Armenian Church, members of the congregation are strongly reminded to refrain from walking in and out of the Sanctuary while services are in progress. You are especially reminded not to do so during Reading of Lections until the Creed is recited, The Chalice Procession,The Hymn “Der Voghormia,” Singing of Hayr Mer – Lord’s Prayer, During Confession and Communion and During the Sermon. Please, wait in the vestibule until such time when it is proper to enter the Sanctuary.

Welcome to Parishioners and Friends - We happily welcome all who have come to worhship the Lord today on this day of Poon Paregentan.  As we enter the weeks of lent with special services, we will be entering one of the most exciting seasons of the liturgical years.  This year Great Lent begins on Monday, February 16th and is a period of forty days designated by the church as a time of reflection, spiritual discipline and self-examinations in preparation for Easter.  Fasting and prayers are the two most important elements.     

Fellowship Hour - Following church services you are invited to Fellowship hour hosted by Nancy Beidleman on behalf of the Women's Guild.                                                                                                 

Prayers for the Sick (Der Voghormia) - Page 45 of the Divine Liturgy Book.

Let us remember and ask God’s Blessings for our parishioners, who are ill at home, in a hospital or nursing home. Let us continue with our prayers for:

Prayer Requests - For those who request Hokehankisd (Requiem Service) or to enter a loved one's name on the prayer list, please call the church by Thursday of that week for printing in the Sunday bulletin. Requiem Service may take place during the entire year (including Lent) except for the 5 Tabernacle Feast Days.

Special Prayers  are requested for a speedy recovery following surgery for Elizabeth Krikorian requested by Helen and Michelle  Babikian.

Nicene Creed: Together, we shall recite the Nicene Creed (The Profession of Our Faith) on Pages 18-19 of the Divine Liturgy Book found in the pews.

Confession and Communion - For those who wish to receive Holy Communion are asked to remain in their pews and together read the "Confession and Absolution" on Page 48 of the Divine Liturgy Book.  When taking communion, make the sign of the cross and say:  I have sinned against God - Megha Asdoozo.  Ladies must have a head covering when approaching the Holy altar.

Care, Maintenance and Cost of the “Light of St. Gregory” - Our thanks to the Dulkadir Family for taking the responsibility of the cost of Keeping "The Light of St. Gregory" illuminated for the month of February in memory of Hayrabed Dulkadir and the Moripek Family.   Our thanks to Anonymous for taking the responsibility of Keeping "The Light of St. Gregory" illuminated at the stained glass window for the month of February for the Glory of God. 

St. Gregory Women's Guild Mini Lenten Retreat - Please join the St. Gregory Women's Guild for a day of Spiritual Reflection as Fr. Aren talks about "The Women of the Genocide".  Saturday, February 21, 2015 from 9:30am-3:00pm. When the Need Arises - Get in Touch With the Church OfficeBefore making any preparations, in choosing date and time for Weddings and Baptisms, please be sure to contact Fr. Aren Jebejian. All Sacraments must be arranged at least three months ahead.  Other church related matters, such as hospital and home visitations and counseling, should be made first with Fr. Aren.  In order to invite clergy from other churches, arrangements must be made through the church office.   

On Monday Fr. Aren will be in the church office from 2:00 - 5:00pm. and on Wednesday Fr. Aren will be at the Diocesan Council meeting.

Centennial Commemoration - This year marks the centennial of the Armenian Genocide.  There are a number of National and local events.  Please consult the diocesan website www.armenianchurch.net for a list of events, or for local events, www.chicagogenocidecentennial.com.

Genocide Documentary - On Thursday, February 19th, the Genocide Documentary will be shown entitled, "I Hate Dogs", at 7:30pm. with a discussion to follow.
