Please be advised that according to the tradition of the Armenian Church, members of the congregation are strongly reminded to refrain from walking in and out of the Sanctuary while services are in progress. You are especially reminded not to do so during Reading of Lections until the Creed is recited, The Chalice Procession,The Hymn “Der Voghormia,” Singing of Hayr Mer – Lord’s Prayer, and During the Sermon. Please, wait in the vestibule until such time when it is proper to enter the Sanctuary.

Welcome to Parishioners and Friends - Today is Palm Sunday, which falls this year on March 29th, 2015 and marks the end of the Lenten period.  On this day the ACYOA will host the traditional Palm Sunday Luncheon and celebration of youth.  We hope that all of you came together as a family to share the joy of Christ's triumphant entry into Jerusalem and to encourage our youth by sharing in the luncheon they have prepared for our parish.    

Altar Flowers - The Flowers adorning the altar today are presented to the glory of God by Fr. Aren Jebejian in honor of all Diramayrs.                                                                                             

Prayers for the Sick (Der Voghormia) - Page 45 of the Divine Liturgy Book.

Let us remember and ask God’s Blessings for our parishioners, who are ill at home, in a hospital or nursing home. Let us continue with our prayers for:

Prayer Requests - For those who request Hokehankisd (Requiem Service) or to enter a loved one's name on the prayer list, please call the church by Thursday of that week for printing in the Sunday bulletin. Requiem Service may take place during the entire year (including Lent) except for the 5 Tabernacle Feast Days.

Palms for Palm Sunday- The Pastor and Parish Council gratefully acknowledge and thank all who so generously donated Palms to the church for Palm Sunday.

Palm Sunday is ACYOA day throughout our Diocese and our own Shant Paklaian, as a member of ACYOA Central Council is speaking at St. David Armenian Church, Boca Raton, Florida.

Nicene Creed: Together, we shall recite the Nicene Creed (The Profession of Our Faith) on Pages 18-19 of the Divine Liturgy Book found in the pews.

Care, Maintenance and Cost of the “Light of St. Gregory” - Our thanks to the Babikian Family for taking the responsibility of the cost of Keeping "The Light of St. Gregory" illuminated for the month of March.  Our thanks to Fr. Aren Jebejian for taking the responsibility of Keeping "The Light of St. Gregory" illuminated at the stained glass window for the month of March  in Honor of his Uncle Ara Basherian's 80th Birthday. 

Forget me not Centennial Pins - St. Gregory has commemorative pins in the shape of the Forget Me Not Flower.  The cost is $5.00 each.

College Scholarships 2015 -  The application and reference forms must be submitted electronically by going to www.armenianchurch-ed.net/programming/scholarships/.   All applications must be accompanied by a recommendation from Fr. Aren.

When the Need Arises - Get in Touch With the Church OfficeBefore making any preparations, in choosing date and time for Weddings and Baptisms, please be sure to contact Fr. Aren Jebejian. All Sacraments must be arranged at least three months ahead.  Other church related matters, such as hospital and home visitations and counseling, should be made first with Fr. Aren.  In order to invite clergy from other churches, arrangements must be made through the church office.   

New Standing Committee - As was proposed at the 2015 Parish Assembly, the parish council has set the date of April 14th at 7:30pm. for the formation of a standing committee to explore the future of St. Gregory.  All who are interested in serving, please contact Fr. Aren or Parish Council Chairman Arden Karian.

On Monday Fr. Aren will be in the Church office from 2:00 - 5:00pm.and Wednesday from 10:00 - 3:00pm.  

Centennial Commemoration - This year marks the centennial of the Armenian Genocide.  There are a number of National and local events.  Please consult the diocesan website www.armenianchurch.net for a list of events, or for local events, www.chicagogenocidecentennial.com.

Easter Sunday, April 5th -    Morning Service 10:00 am. Divine Liturgy 10:30 am. Festive Home Blessing in our church Hall

Monday, April 6th -              Remembrance of the Dead "Merelotz"  11:00am.

Sunday April 19th-              Joint Divine Liturgy at Armenian All Saints Church, Glenview, IL.  This will be the last time we have Hokehankist for the Martyrs of the Genocide.
