Prayers for the Sick

During the singing of (Der Voghormia) - Page 45 of the Divine Liturgy Book, we pray for peace and for the sick. Let us remember and ask God’s Blessings for our parishioners, who are ill at home, in a hospital or nursing home.

Light of St. Gregory

Thank you to the Karian Family  for donating the cost of keeping both "Lights of St. Gregory"  (altar and stained glass) illuminated for the month of December.

 

Fellowship Hour

All are encouraged to attend fellowship hour following Divine Liturgy which is graciously hosted by Kenarr Chiodo on behalf of the Women's Guild.    

                                                                    Requests for Prayers and Requiem Service

Kindly notify the Chuch Office by Thursday in order to include a loved one in the prayer list or for a Requiem request for the following Sunday. Requiems may  be requested for any Sunday of the year except on the five Tabernacle Feast Days.

 

Participant and Etiquette

Parishioners are encouraged to recite the Nicene Creed together on pages 18-19 of the Divine Liturgy Book, as well as the Confession on page 48 in preparation for receiving Holy Communion.

Please refrain from entering the sanctuary during the: Lections, Nicene Creed, Chalice Procession, singing of the Hayr Mer (Lord's Prayer), Der Voghormya (Lords have mercy), reading of Confession, Holy Communion and Sermon. Once you have entered the sanctuary, kindly remain until the conclusion of the service. When approching the priest to receive Holy Communion, make the sign of the cross and say, "Megha Asdoodzo" or "I have sinned against God." Ladies must have a head covering when approaching the Holy Altar.

 

Visiting Clergy

In the absence of a full time pastor, the Parish Council is coordinating through the Diocese weekend visiting clergy. If you would like to host the visiting clergy for a meal or request a pastoral visit, please contact the Church Office. Assistance is also needed for pick up and drop off at O'Hare for out of town clergy.

St. Gregory and St. James Armenian Churches 2015 Christmas Party - Come celebrate the Holidays with fellow parishioners from both St. James and St. Gregory in our first joint, co-sponsored Christmas Party today, from 4:00 to 8:00pm at Parthenon Greek Family Restaurant located at 314 S. Halsted St. Both valet and street parking will be availabe. Please come support what we hope will be an annual tradition for our two parishes.
