Welcome 

We warmly welcome all who have come to worship God as we celebrate the Feast of the Nativity and Baptism of our Lord Jesus Christ.  May this time of worship be encouraging and inspirational to all and may all the wonderful blessings of Christmas be with you throughout the New Year.   

Prayers for the Sick

During the singing of Der Voghormia - Page 45 of the Divine Liturgy Book, we pray for peace and for the sick. Let us remember and ask God’s Blessings for our parishioners, who are ill at home, hospital or nursing home.

Light of St. Gregory

Thank you to Susan (Tootooian) Volkman for donating the cost of keeping the  "Light of St. Gregory"  illuminated for the month of January in memory of her parents, Mesak and Vartar Tootooian.

Special Plate Collection

Today the first collection plate which will be passed during the Dypticks, "Arakelotz" Page 36, will be for the St. Gregory Nairi Choir. 

Blessing of Water

Today's service will conclude with Churorhnek, Blessing of Water, symbolizing the Baptisim of Christ.  As Godfather of the Lord's Baptism, Reno George will hold the Holy Cross during the service representing John the Baptist.  All parishioners will receive a small cup of blessed water please consume the blessed water with the cups provided.  If you take blessed water home, please return these so that they may be disposed of properly since they contain traces of Holy Muron (Chrism).  They should not be thrown into the garbage.  It is recommended to take blessed water home for those who are sick or shut-in. 

                                                                                           Participation and Etiquette


Parishioners are encouraged to recite the Nicene Creed together on pages 18-19 of the Divine Liturgy Book, as well as the Confession on page 48 in preparation for receiving Holy Communion.

Please refrain from entering the sanctuary during the: Lections, Nicene Creed, Chalice Procession, singing of the Hayr Mer (Lord's Prayer), Der Voghormya (Lord have mercy), reading of Confession, Holy Communion and Sermon. Once you have entered the sanctuary, kindly remain until the conclusion of the service. When approching the priest to receive Holy Communion, make the sign of the cross and say, "Megha Asdoodzo" or "I have sinned against God." Ladies must have a head covering when approaching the Holy Altar.

  

Visiting Clergy

In the absence of a full time pastor, the Parish Council is coordinating through the Diocese weekend visiting clergy. If you would like to host the visiting clergy for a meal or request a pastoral visit, please contact the Church Office. Assistance is also needed for pick up and drop off at O'Hare for out of town clergy.

Calendar of Events

Christmas Family Dinner will be hosted by the Women's Guild following Services $15.00 for Adults and $10.00 for Children 12 and under

Requiem Service and Prayer List requests should be made to the Church Office by Thursday for inclusion in the bulletin of the subsequent Sunday. Requiems may take place on any Sunday except on the five Tabernacle Feast Days.

Sacraments of Baptism and Matrimony must be scheduled at least 3 months before proposed date with the Church Office.
