Light of St. Gregory
Thank you to Mary Kazarian for taking the responsibility of the cost of Keeping "The Light of St. Gregory" illuminated for the month of September in memory of The Kazarian and Arakelian Families and to The Hitik Family for taking the responsibility of the cost of Leeping "The Light of St. Gregory" illuminated at the stained glass window illuminated for the month of September.
St. Gregory's 90th Anniversary
You are cordially invited to Celebrate the Anniversary of the Consecration of St. Gregory Armenian Church on Diversey with a luncheon on Sunday, October 16th following church services. Please RSVP to the Church office 773-637-1711 by October 10th. Donation will be $20.00 for Adults, $10.00 for Children ages 5-12 and children under 5 are free. If you have any photographs or film of St. Gregory on Hoyne and Augusta, please give it to any Parish Council Member.
Participation and Etiquette
Parishioners are encouraged to recite the Nicene Creed together on pages 18-19 of the Divine Liturgy Book, as well as the Confession on page 48 in preparation for receiving Holy Communion.
Please refrain from entering the sanctuary during the: Lections, Nicene Creed, Chalice Procession, singing of the Hayr Mer (Lord’s Prayer), Der Voghormya (Lord have mercy), reading of Confession, Holy Communion and sermon. Once you have entered the sanctuary, kindly remain until the conclusion of the service. When approaching the priest to receive Holy Communion, make the sing of the cross and say, “Megha Asdoodzo” or “I have sinned against God.” Ladies must have a head covering when approaching the Holy Altar.
